The building contract with Pinelog Ltd was placed on the 30th November 2012. Since then both the supplier and Padbury Pre-school Limited were hard at work agreeing details about the new building and the schedule for completion and handover.
The start of the works were slightly delayed due to snow, but construction commenced on the 28th January 2013. These works created the external area within which the pre‐school functions. This consisted of fencing, paving, building foundations, service runs and car park alterations.
The new building was delivered on the 19th February 2013 and took only 3 days to install.
During the following half term, the utilities were connected, the outside area was turfed and staff and volunteers worked tirelessly to fit out the building to meet our high expectations before receiving the children.
The pre-school became operational on Monday 15th April 2013 when staff greeted the first children to be welcomed to our new home.
The building was officially opened on Saturday, 13th July 2013 by the Mayor of Winslow, Cllr. David Barry and the Deputy Mayor of Buckingham, Cllr. Lisa O’Donaghue. Building competition winner, Dr. Nina Bursell named the building “The Ark.”
