Our Organisation

Padbury Pre-school opened in 2008 and has continued to grow and run successfully ever since.

 

The pre-school operates as a not for profit company (limited by guarantee) registered with Companies House and we hold charitable status. We employ seven part-time staff and provide services to many local, 2-5 years old children. Although we are a company, we are set up as a committee with a chairperson, treasurer and secretary so that there are clear roles for all involved

 

We always welcome new volunteers to join the Committee, or just to help.

 

As a Committee Member you would assist in the overall managerial and strategic development of the pre-school ensuring the pre-school meets local, national government and Ofsted requirements. The day-to day management is dealt with by pre-school staff.

 

Depending on your particular experience, skills and preferences there may be the opportunity to work with staff, however, Committee Members are not normally required to do this.

 

The Committee has overcome many challenges together and have had fun doing so! It is wonderful to be able to play such an important role in the sustainability and development of the pre-school and is a fantastic opportunity to learn more about our children’s early education experience.

 

General Information

We hold evening meetings at six weekly intervals. Committee Members are expected to be able to

dedicate time to management related tasks in between meetings. This helps us work well as a team.

 

Desirable:

• Experience of working within education – not necessarily Early Years,

• Experience of working within business, management, finance or personnel

• We would ask that all volunteers are computer literate, although this is not a limiting factor.

• We welcome applications from all, particularly those who are not pre-school parents, may be retired and from men or women.
